Imam an-Nasa'i was a renowned scholar who devoted his life to the study and teaching of hadith. He traveled extensively to collect and verify hadiths from different regions and scholars. He wrote several books on hadith, such as As-Sunan al-Kubra, Al-Mujtaba fi al-Sunan al-Sughra, Al-Khasa'is al-Kubra, Al-Khasa'is al-Sughra, and others. He was also a jurist who followed the Shafi'i school of thought. He died in 915 CE in Makkah after being attacked by some people who were offended by his criticism of some weak hadiths about Ali ibn Abi Talib (the fourth caliph and cousin of Prophet Muhammad). He was buried in al-Baqi' cemetery near the Prophet's mosque. 061ffe29dd
